NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING CONCERNING THE INTENT OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF SCHOOLDISTRICT NUMBER 190, HENRY AND ROCK ISLAND COUNTIES, ILLINOIS TO SELL $575,000 WORKING CASH FUND BONDS AND $300,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION SCHOOL BONDS (ALTERNATE REVENUE SOURCE)

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that School District Number 190, Henry and Rock Island
Counties, Illinois (the “District”), will hold a public hearing on the 11th day of January, 2024, at
6:30 o’clock P.M. The hearing will be held in Room N4 at Colona Grade School, 700 1st Street,
Colona, Illinois. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comments on the proposal
to sell bonds in the amount of $575,000 for the purpose of increasing the working cash fund of
the District and bonds in the amount of $300,000 for the purpose of altering, repairing and
equipping District facilities and improving the sites thereof, including, without limitation, school
safety improvements.

Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Room.  Visitors are welcome to attend all meetings.  Please contact eglackin@csd190 if you have any questions.  

Public Participation at School Board Meetings and Petitions to the Board (BP 2:230):  At each regular and special open meeting, members of the public and District employees may comment to or ask questions of the School Board, subject to reasonable constraints.  

The individuals appearing before the Board are expected to follow these guidelines: 

  1. Address the Board only at the appropriate time as indicated on the agenda and when recognized by the Board President. 
  2. Identify oneself and be brief.  Ordinarily, comments shall be limited to 5 minutes.  In unusual circumstances, and when an individual has made a request in advance to speak for a longer period of time,  the individual may be allowed to speak for more than 5 minutes. 
  3. Observe the Board President's decision to shorten public comment to conserve time and give the maximum number of individuals an opportunity to speak. 
  4. Observe the Board President's decision to determine procedural matters regarding public participation not otherwise covered in Board policy. 
  5. Conduct oneself with respect and civility toward others and otherwise abide by Board policy 8:30, Visitors to and Conduct on School Property.  

Petitions or written correspondence to the Board shall be presented to the Board in the next regular Board packet.
