Drop Off/Pick Up

Student transportation to and from school during the morning and afternoon is always a serious safety concern due to the high volume of traffic along route 84 and in the school driveway and parking areas.  In an effort to make this as safe as possible given the physical space and location of the school, please remember the following procedures:

  • There are 2 lanes for entry into the school parking lot.  The middle lane is for traffic that is moving and/or seeking parking in the North Parking lot.  Absolutely no cars are to stop and allow children to exit or enter cars from the middle lane.
  • The right lane is for student drop-off and pick-up only.  Student should exit and leave the car from the right side and walk away from the car to the school entrance.  Cars are not allowed to park in this lane and the driver must be in the car at all times.  This procedure will improve the efficiency and safety of student drop-off and pick-up for everyone.
  • Please drive slowly when entering and leaving the parking lot and driveways.  Use caution at the speed bump in front of the building, students cross the parking lot at this crosswalk.
  • It is illegal to use the cell phones while driving a vehicle in a school zone and in the parking lot and drive areas.
  • Children must wear seatbelts at all times when the vehicle is moving.
  • There is no parking allowed alongside of the building.  Please park in designated spaces.  Only use the handicapped space with the appropriate permit.
  • There is no smoking allowed on school grounds or in cars while on school grounds.
  • Please remember that in the morning, students eating breakfast may arrive no earlier that 7:45.  All others may arrive at 8:00 a.m.
